Release of Airworthiness Directive on Insulation material imminent
Prompted by reports of in-flight and ground fires, the FAA has prepared a new rule instructing the replacement of insulation material constructed with a PET-film called AN-26. Replacement of the insulation material is necessary in order to meet the latest flammability and safety requirements.
This Airworthiness Directive (AD) will be mandatory and requires the replacement of all insulation material for the following Boeing aircraft built between 1981 and 1989:
-727-200(F)
-737-200(C) ; -300; -400
-747-100(B) (SUD); -200(B,C,F); -300 & -400
-757-200(PF)
-767-200 & -300
Specially for this purpose Orcon developed STC/PMA insulation replacement kits.
Thanks to the advanced design of these kits, significant cost reductions will be achieved. Besides savings in price, even higher savings will be made thanks to the “just-in-time” deliveries and short installation time required for the kits.
The Orcon/Avio-Diepen team is ready to assist you with implementing this high-impact requirement, keeping your fleet profitable.
